ABOVE 98TH STREET (BELOW THE STARS) is a one-act musical with music and lyrics by Jeffrey Stock that chronicles the stories of three New York couples. We meet them and learn about their journeys of love (and sometimes loss) through a series of scenes and songs. Some scenes are fast-paced; others are dreamlike miniature memory plays. The song "Somewhere Between Your Place and Mine" was originally commissioned and premiered by Lincoln Center for its series called Lincoln Center Originals: Songwriters. In this song, the character of Josh traverses the map of Manhattan, piecing together the landmarks of his adult life, both geographical and emotional.
